A few weeks ago, a customer approached us with a challenge. Their palletizer was experiencing issues, and they sought our assistance in designing and fabricating parts to optimize the pallet packing process.
This project had it all:
Design work
CAD / 3d Modeling in Fusion 360
CNC Plasma Cutting
Machining
Fixturing and Welding
Although they had devised a solution, lacking the tools, experience, and time of a professional fabricator they solved the immediate problem, but left the system in a stated where an upgrade was warranted. Recognizing the need for expert intervention, they turned to Southeast Texas Pumps to thoroughly assess the problem, evaluate the existing design, and develop an effective solution for packing their products onto the pallet.
The exciting news is that we could leverage the groundwork they had laid as a starting point for our design. We integrated what was functional and improved upon what needed enhancement.

Once we gathered all the necessary measurements and formulated the overall plan, we created a Fusion 360 model of the design. The 3D model ensured that all the components would fit seamlessly and provided the customer with a visual model for review. Our design included individual pieces specified to interlock, guaranteeing proper alignment and simplifying the setup on the fixture table.

Upon receiving the customer's final approval, we procured the metal and commenced fabrication. The transition from CAD design to the plasma table was remarkably swift. We cut the ¼” aluminum bar stock to the required shape, adding tabs to the cross braces for alignment, which greatly facilitated squaring everything up.
This project showcased our full range of skills, particularly as it required us to machine the adjustable vertical rods flat on the backside to ensure a snug fit. It's truly gratifying, when the plan comes together.

The welds are chunky, rest assured, they are robust.
Finally, the completed project was delivered to the customer. Upon installation, it has been in successful operation for about a month now. We not only solved their problem but also achieved a visually appealing finish with the brushed aluminum.
